MICHELLE

Gagnon

Michelle's love of doing hair sparked way before graduating from the Cosmetology program at STCC in 1993. She had always enjoyed experimenting on any daring family and friends who would let her. Once she completed school she hit the ground running at a salon in Easthampton that she worked at for thirteen years. In 2006, she opened The Colour Bar Salon with her coworker and good friend Maria.

Michelle's passion for hair revolves primarily around grey coverage and customized, dimensional hair color. Over the years she has enhanced her talent through both hands on and virtual training. This not only keeps her up to date with the latest color trends, but fuels her passion for creating beautiful hair color for her clients.

When Michelle is not in the salon, she enjoys spending time outdoors, camping with her husband Mike and their two dogs, teaching yoga, and inspiring others through her inspirational writing at msmichellegagnon.com.

MARIA

Lavoie

Maria discovered her love for hair at a young age while spending time with her Aunt, who was a hairdresser. She was inspired by seeing how she could help women feel beautiful inside and out. Maria knew that when she graduated from high school, she would immediately attend Cosmetology school…and hasn’t looked back since.

After 25+ years Maria has never been more passionate about her craft. She takes great pride in continuing to evolve her skills by taking in-person, virtual, and advanced color certification courses. Maria specializes in dimensional + lived in color, gray coverage, and blonding services.

Maria works together with her guests to create a long-term hair care plan to ensure their color, cut, and style always look fresh so there won’t ever be a time her guests feel bored or stuck in a routine. She also checks in at the start of every appointment to see if her client’s hair goals have changed and works together with them to make any necessary adjustments.

When Maria is not in the Salon, you will find her spending time with her husband Christian and chasing around their 5-year-old daughter Amelia! She is an avid Patriots fan, loves to travel, and has a big passion for health and fitness.

SARRAH

Mailloux

Sarrah studied cosmetology at Smith Vocation High School and started her career at a salon in Northampton where she trained and worked for over seven years. In Spring of 2021, she was excited to be given the opportunity to join her sister Michelle and her business partner Maria at The Colour Bar Salon.

Sarrah enjoys staying current with the latest trends by immersing herself in mastery classes like Schwarzkopf, Redken, Pureology and Paul Mitchell. She also most recently returned from a trip to Vegas where she focused on balayage, bobs and curly hair. In the salon, she specializes in working with short hair, highlights, and blonding techniques.

Outside of the salon, you’ll find her racking up miles on her Garmin watch, whether it's running marathons or hiking with her dog.
